Where It Started

In 2009 I saw a $3M week run by a few friends with no company, no employees, no office. It took me 15 years to understand why startups couldn't work the same way—until now.

It was a tango event in Tylösand, Sweden. Thousands of people. Perfectly orchestrated. And the organizers? Just a few friends who came together, executed something beautiful, and went back to their lives.

I remember thinking: why can't companies work like this?

At that time it felt impossible. But the idea never left me.

What Changed

AI made the tango model possible for software companies.

The constraint was never talent. It was coordination overhead. Managing. Aligning. Waiting. Politics.

One founder with partners and AI can now do what took teams of ten or more just a few years ago. But only if everyone's an equal. Same skin in the game. Same speed. No hierarchy slowing things down.

I call this the Zero Crew model.
